Dr. Syed Mehboob-ul-Hassan Bukhari (Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, University of Karachi)
Dr. Syed Mehboob-ul-Hassan Bukhari is currently associated with Munich Center for Science and Technology as a researcher on the Coproduction of Gender and Society at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy, University of Karachi. Pakistan. He earned a distinction in graduation (equivalent 16 years education) in Islamic Studies and later on won a gold medal in MA Philosophy from University of Karachi. He has two distinctive international publications namely ‘Islamization of Ilm: Ideals and Realities in globalized World’ from Adelaide University Press, Adelaide, Australia, and ‘Trends of Liberalism and Islam in Pakistan’ from Routledge, London. In addition, he has a good command on Arabic as well as working knowledge of German and French languages.
He has also been involved in teaching and designing courses for undergrad and postgrad programs at IBM, SZABIST, Habib University, and I.B.A universities in Pakistan. He gives talks in workshops, seminars, and guest speaking sessions quite frequently on modern issues such as Human Rights, Environmentalism, Multiculturalism, Islamophobia, Feminism, Interfaith Dialogue, Social and Moral Decay of Muslim Societies etc. Furthermore, he weekly appears as an expert on Islam in the modern world on many national TV channels such as 92 News, Express News etc.
